Well that is 23 as of right now. Obviously there is still a decent amount of time of the off season left. And their is about a month left until spring training, thank god.
They phils have made some very good moves this off season as well. Bringing in Roy Halladay, imo, was the right baseball move. Would it have been the most ideal scenario, no, but we have secured arguably the best pitcher in baseball for a possible 5 years and our farm system is still in a decent shape.
We also signed Placido Polanco to fill in the hole at third base. I think it is a great fit, does it work out well because he has been playing second base so much is yet to be determined.
They also brought in Dany Baez. He will mesh with the bullpen already.
The issues plaguing the phillies going into 2010 season is the fifth starter role. Do they stick with moyer or use and arm from the farm who knows. They also need to strengthen the bullpen. Lidge and Romero may not be ready come the start of the season. Plus, going off of last season, we may need a back up to lidge.
The starting 8 are set and the bench is set. Still time to decide many things.
